With her new album Soûlkreôl Vol.1 // Roots/Racines, Senaya returns in force after a few years of absence and reveals nine facets of her Soûlkreôl through nine songs with their own color, rhythm, flavor and illustrating the mixed soul. The singer-songwriter presents us with a humanist and committed album that subtly declines the rhythms of Africa and the Antilles, for a result of great accuracy.
This new opus, in the form of a first volume calling for a second, is intended as a return to the Guadeloupean roots of Senaya and offers a focus on the rhythms of Gwoka (with the Boulagèl in particular) and other music from Guadeloupe such as Zouk, the Ballade Créole and the cadence. The artist also adds gospel, blues, electro, Zouglou from the Ivory Coast, Makossa from Cameroon and Mbalax from Senegal. Under the main theme of love, Senaya skilfully sprinkles the whole with acoustic instruments such as the violin, the Kora, the harmonica for the best brilliant result.

Avec son nouvel album Soûlkreôl Vol.1 // Roots/Racines, Senaya revient en force après quelques années d’absence et nous dévoile neuf facettes de son Soûlkreôl à travers neuf chansons ayant leur propre couleur, rythmique, saveur et illustrant à merveille l’âme métissée. L’autrice-compositrice-interprète nous présente un album humaniste et engagé qui décline tout en finesse les rythmes d’Afrique et des Antilles, pour un résultat d’une grande justesse.
Ce nouvel opus, sous la forme d’un premier volume appelant un deuxième, se veut comme un retour aux racines guadeloupéennes de Senaya et offre un focus sur les rythmes du Gwoka (avec le Boulagèl notamment) et autres musiques de la Guadeloupe comme le Zouk, la Ballade Créole et la cadence. L’artiste y ajoute, également, du gospel, du blues, de l’électro, du Zouglou de la Côte d’Ivoire, du Makossa du Cameroun et du Mbalax du Sénégal. Sous le thème principal de l’amour, Senaya saupoudre savamment le tout avec des instruments acoustiques tel le violon, la Kora, l’harmonica pour un résultat des plus brillants.

Senaya, a half-blood, who comes from the country where negritude originated and is deeply rooted, was born in the city of Dakar, Senegal, the child of a Guadeloupean mother and Senegalese father. She is a singer, composer, author, poet and guitarist, a self-taught artist of a thousand flavours, who invite us to travel to American Blues through the rhythms of Africa, the Caribbean, to Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Negro Spirituals !

Senaya, une métisse, qui vient du pays où la négritude a pris naissance, est née au Sénégal, dans la ville de Dakar, d’un père sénégalais et d’une mère guadeloupéenne. Elle est chanteuse, compositrice, auteure, poète, guitariste, artiste autodidacte aux mille bouquets, qui nous fait voyager avec sa musique du Blues, aux rythmes de l’Afrique et des Caraïbes Jazz au Soul en passant par le Funk, Folk et le Negro Spiritual!
